This planned face-to-face conference is to be co-hosted by the Botswana University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (BUAN), in association with the Botswana Society of Livestock Science and Production (BSLSP), the South African Society of Animal Science (SASAS), All Africa Society for Animal Production (AASAP) and the National Agricultural Research and Development Institute (NARDI) and has strong endorsement from the Centre for Coordination of Agricultural Research and Development for Southern Africa (CCARDESA) www.ccardesa.org&lt;http://www.ccardesa.org&gt; .
The Main Theme of the Conference is : "Sustainable African Animal Agriculture: Challenges and Future Prospects
Sub-Themes

1. Enhancing Youth Engagement in Animal Agriculture in Africa.
2. Towards sustainable resolution of farmer-herder conflicts in Africa.
3. Climate change adaptation and mitigation: the role of animal scientists
4. The One Health Concept - managing zoonotic disease transmission through controlled contacts between domestic livestock and wildlife. Anti-microbial resistance is becoming a threat to animal health and need attention. Also, anti-microbial resistance is posing a problem on efficacy of drugs
5. Animal Food Safety and Consumer Health: current status in Africa and required interventions
6. Animal Science, Ecological Goods and Rangeland Services in Africa.
7. ICT and Data Science: opportunities for utilization of innovative technologies in sustainable animal agriculture in Africa.
8. Appropriate animal genetics, feeds and health inputs: towards solutions for access and last mile delivery
