From our regional offices in tropical and Mediterranean countries, the French overseas regions and Montpellier, we conduct joint activities with more than a hundred countries. Those activities notably take the form of a portfolio of almost 900 projects each year, a selection of which is shown on this map. A number of platforms in partnership for research and training – our preferred mode of international cooperation – complete this view of our worldwide presence on the ground.

FAO Strategic Framework 2022-2031 was developed in the context of major global and regional challenges in the areas of FAO's mandate, including the COVID-19 pandemic. It was developed through an inclusive, transparent process involving extensive internal and external consultations, Governing Body meetings and informal consultations. It was endorsed at the 42nd session of the FAO Conference on 18 June 2021.

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a non-profit institution that generates agricultural innovations to meet Africa’s most pressing challenges of hunger, malnutrition, poverty, and natural resource degradation.
