Subject: FW: Follow up: Agriculture Webinar | Use of Genetics and Genomics to Improve the Productivity and Profitability of Smallholder Livestock Farmers - Website is ready

Dear all

As I think some of you are aware, we have been working over the past few years to identify (and where feasible provide proof of concept) cost-effective possibilities to allow researchers and livestock farmers (primarily beef and dairy cattle, sheep and goats) in low-to-middle income countries (LMICs) to set up systems that enable smallholder farmers to benefit from the use of improved genetics. The journal where several of our papers are being published offered to host a webinar (on 12th October) so we could discuss some of the suggestions from the attached papers as well as use the opportunity to determine interest from webinar participants in forming a network to help interested parties access the infrastructure and resources (e.g. computing platforms, analytical software, capacity building, funding) and the partnerships to enable LMICs to successfully develop systems like those outlined in a couple of the papers attached here. The journal sent through the following link to the webinar late yesterday ...

The journal is advertising the webinar amongst their networks but I am also forwarding on to you in case you are not on their circulation lists - please forward on to others if relevant!

Kind regards

Heather
