With the environment changing the genetics also need to change to adapt.
Artificial manipulations only assist to fast track the change, that nature
will have to do anyway,, albeit only slowly. The crop failures, and the
loss of livestock due to droughts is selecting for survival and eventually
the management techniques that exist will also need to change, I think
holistic approach is what is needed, it is neither this or that.
