Mr. Chataika researched one of the important indigenous plant species in Namibia and the region, the spider plant, also known as Omboga or Ombidi. In his dissertation, he avails key pre-breeding aspects of the Species, which have the potential of stimulating further breeding and agronomic studies aimed at enhancing its utilization. The spider plant is currently in the category of orphan crops or neglected crops.
