The SADC TFCA Financing Facility is a regional fund established to provide funding to support conservation, development and management actions in SADC Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs). The Facility is part of the SADC TFCA Programme (2013), which aims to contribute towards sustainable financing mechanisms for transboundary natural resources management. The TFCA FF is administered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Eastern and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO). The initial phase of this programme (2020-2026), is funded by the German Government through KfW.
IUCN aims to establish a Roster of Experts, comprising a group of independent experts with a mix of relevant technical expertise and experience in the SADC region and beyond.
On an ad hoc basis, experts will be selected from the Expert Group Roster to perform the following tasks:
* Provide guidance on general eligibility of projects and sites
* Provide guidance and recommendations on evaluation and selection of individual projects
* Make recommendations to the Project Executing Agency about the financial and technical attributes of
different proposals
* Provide guidance and support on specific technical questions which may arise during project
implementation
Based on the submitted expressions of interest, IUCN will then develop a Roster of Experts who will be called upon to advise on areas which are aligned to their expertise and experience.
Kindly note that this role will be on a voluntary and ad-hoc basis, therefore IUCN will not be able to offer remuneration for the expert advice.
