Dear colleagues,



We are pleased to invite you to join the virtual event *Accelerating the
transition towards sustainable Agri-Food Systems in the context of Climate
Change: the contribution of the Climate-Smart Agriculture approach, *which
will take place on July 20 on Zoom.



Under the *Independent Dialogues Food Systems Summit* banner, the Global
Alliance of Climate Smart Agriculture (GACSA), with the technical support
of the CSA Team of Office of Climate Change, Biodiversity and Environment
(OCB) of FAO, is organizing this webinar to discuss how the Climate-Smart
Agriculture (CSA) approach can guide the transition towards more
sustainable agri-food systems in the context of climate change,
contributing to the restoration and preservation of ecosystems and their
related products and services, and sustaining human livelihoods and health.



The event will entail a scene-setting plenary session (20 minutes),
introducing a state-of-play as to recent reports and initiatives. Right
afterwards, the parallel session (40 minutes) will bring three discussions:



1. *Role of knowledge on CSA in increasing capacity building
particularly for achieving the SDGs: examples of key publications will be
shared by Nadine van Dijk, CSA Officer at FAO *
2. *Role of indigenous women and youth in agroforestry: example of
Ecuador shared by **Izamar Valarezo, young indigenous leader and *
*President** of the Network of Cocoa Associations of the Napo Province*
3. *Climate-smart livestock and crops practices: example of Botswana
shared by Mr Thabang Botshoma, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry
of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism of Botswana.*



The rooms will start with videos or presentations by one stakeholder
(maximum 5 minutes). In each room a facilitator will help the discussions
and Q&A with the audience.
