> Feeding rapidly-growing cities sustainably will be one of the key challenges in the next decades, in developing as well as developed countries. Key issues include long and distant supply chains, poor infrastructure, waste, the neglect of local production possibilities and, of course, urban over- and under-nutrition.

> Objectives and format
>
> During this brainstorming lab, presenters and facilitators from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, C40, ETTG, ECDPM, Barilla Foundation, Ghent City and others, will share the growing evidence of innovative urban policies and projects that create food access for marginalised groups, from cities in Europe and the Global South.
>
> Participants will brainstorm on a toolbox to integrate local food systems within urban planning with a special focus on increasing access to food for marginalised and vulnerable groups. The resulting urban food toolbox will be proposed to the European Commission to inform development programmes and approaches.
>
> Please join us, if you are at the EDDs (Note that the deadline to register for this year's edition was Monday 27 May)! For further details, or to reserve your spot, please contact Hanne Knaepen from ECDPM (E-mail: hk@ecdpm.org).
